Cyrus Amir-Mokri
Cyrus Amir-Mokri was nominated by President Barack Obama in September of 2011 to take the post of Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He would replace Michael Barr.[1][2] He is a partner and commercial litigation attorney at the New York office of law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.[3]

Amir-Mokri focuses on federal antitrust and securities cases involving payment systems, retailbanking, securitieslisting, trading, underwriting, and private equityacquisition and financing, representing major U.S. financial institutions. He is also counsel to the chairman of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), beginning in August 2009.[4]
He was born in Tehran and eventually became a board member of The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA). Amir-Mokri also contributed significantly to the writing of the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Bill.[5][6]

American politician
Cyrus Amir-Mokri (Persian: سیروس امیرمکری) was the Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Treasury Department.[1] He resigned from Treasury in April 2014.
Amir-Mokri was a senior legal and policy advisor to the Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He participated in the legislative process that led to the passage of the Dodd-Frank Act and the subsequent implementation through rulemaking. He also served as the agency's deputy representative to the Financial Stability Oversight Council and as liaison for inter-agency affairs. Amir-Mokri's previous experience in government was to serve as law clerk to Bruce M. Selya of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Before serving in government, Mr. Amir-Mokri was a partner at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, resident in its New York City office. He concentrated in complex commercial litigation and participated in many of the firm's high-profile litigation matters.[2]
Currently he is working as General Counsel and Managing Director[3] at JPMorgan Chase in New York.
