I've always been told I read too much. Even when I was younger, nose shoved in a book, boys told me that I was awkward. Finally getting around to "Gilmore Girls" is definitely a feat for me. Not only do Lorelei and Rory have a relationship similar to my mother and I, but Rory's high hopes and love of books is something we also share. So naturally, like any list making overachiever would do, I meticulously searched the Internet for the Rory Gilmore reading challenge.

Over 7 seasons, Rory reads 339 books. And I am prepared to take on the challenge. I found a copy of the list that I found most organized, cut, stapled and mentally prepared myself for this endeavor. I'll be slowly drifting through the list, as I currently have about 100 books stacked in my nightstand, waiting to be read. But as I went through the list, I found that I already own more than a few of the books listed. (Thank god). So once a month, I'll be reviewing the books off the list, along with the difficulties I find while reading them. So stay tuned.

(I also did the math. In order to get through all the books in the same time frame as Rory, I would have to read 48+ books directly from the list a year. So wish me luck.)

Blue Sisters By Coco Mellors Is A Dynamite Read

Coco Mellor's novel "Blue Sisters" is a favorite of Jenna Bush Hager's. It was the September 2024 pick for Read With Jenna, largely because of Mellor's skill for depicting sisterhood dynamics. "I grew up with a mother and grandmother who read 'Little Women' to me, which is about a strong group of sisters. Not since then has a book about sisterhood stuck with me as much as Coco Mellors' 'Blue Sisters,'" Bush Hager explained on Today. The cover of the novel now even boasts a "Read With Jenna" sticker.

The book is about four sisters who grew up in Manhattan and spread out across the world in adulthood. When one of the four sisters dies, the other three are left to reckon with their famili
