Biography
The most dominant moguls skier in history, Mikaël Kingsbury completed his trophy case at PyeongChang 2018, winning the Olympic gold medal. Four years earlier, he had shared the podium with teammate Alex Bilodeau at Sochi 2014, winning the silver medal in his Olympic debut. He added another silver at Beijing 2022 as he became the first male moguls skier to ever win three Olympic medals.
In 2019-20 he won his ninth straight Crystal Globe as the overall World Cup champion for all of freestyle skiing. In December 2015, he earned his 29th career World Cup victory, breaking the male moguls record held by 1992 Olympic champion Edgar Grospiron. In January 2018, he earned his 47th World Cup victory, putting him ahead of 1992 Olympic champion Donna Weinbrecht and 2010 Olympic champion Hannah Kearney on the all-time moguls list. In January 2022, he earned his 70th career World Cup victory and less than a week later added another gold for his 100th career World Cup podium. At the end of the 2021-22 season, Kingsbury was the overall World Cup champion for moguls and dual moguls, adding to his collection of Crystal Globes. He sat at 74 wins and 104 podiums in 123 career World Cup starts.
